Food. Connection. Shared opportunity.
Let’s grow the possibilities together.
The Vine Economy explores how a school garden could connect classrooms, kitchen tables, local businesses, and a whole neighborhood.
Pieces of this idea are already happening across the United States and around the world. People are growing food, sharing knowledge, and building stronger communities. How can we learn from them, connect those efforts, and help them grow?
Explore the idea ↓We don’t have to invent every piece from scratch. School gardens, community food projects, shared learning, and neighborhood enterprises offer places to begin. The Vine Economy asks what becomes possible when we bring those pieces together.
Through Season One of Write. Speak. Play., I’m exploring what’s working, what could work better, and what it would take to help more communities here in the U.S. and around the world get started—and keep growing.
What have you tried? What surprised you? Share the successes, the hard lessons, and the support your project needs.
Teachers, gardeners, cooks, artists, organizers, neighbors, and local businesses each have something to contribute. How could those efforts support one another?
Explore practical questions about land, water, funding, ongoing care, and sharing the benefits. Learn from projects around the world and adapt those lessons to local needs.
This is a big idea. It will take a lot of minds, hands, and hearts to help it grow. I know there are people already trying, learning, and working hard to make parts of it happen. I’d love to hear your stories.
If you’re working on a piece of this idea—in a school, a garden, a business, or your neighborhood—join me as a potential guest on Write. Speak. Play. Let’s talk about what you’re building, what you’ve learned, and what could help it reach more communities.
You don’t need all the answers or a finished project. Bring your questions and what you know.
